beginning the journey
Our inpatient rehabilitation programme is designed to break the shackles of addiction through the careful and methodical dismantling of harmful, old belief systems through the promotion of self-love, self-acceptance and self-esteem.
At Journey, we take a unique, non-punitive approach to the treatment of addiction. We firmly believe that the nourishment and solidification of self-respect and self-esteem cannot possibly coincide with the punishment of a patient.
As a result, we strive to provide our patients with a loving, empathetic environment of recovery typified by relaxed and flexible rules and boundaries.
Our inpatient programme sees a patient reside fulltime at our luxurious and comfortable premises in order to receive around-the-clock support and care. Patients partake in our daily therapeutic groups, each of which are supervised by one of our qualified and experienced counsellors. This is supplemented by weekly one-on-one counselling sessions.
All the while, our patients will have access to perks such as Netflix, Showmax, DSTV, music-streaming services, a pool and gym equipment provided by us.
In alignment with our emphasis on humane and reasonable rules, patients can look forward to controlled and monitored access to their devices within boundaries agreed upon by the therapeutic team.
While some might view inpatient as the only tool required for addiction treatment, at Journey, we believe that it is one stage of a longer process.
In our experience, longer treatment works. It is extremely difficult to undo what might be decades of conditioning and unhealthy behaviours in a one-month stint of treatment.
We recommend a medium to long term treatment plan for all of our patients.
As our patients grow and change on their journey of recovery, so must their therapeutic regimen.
After having completed an intensive inpatient programme at Journey, our patients proceed to our Pembroke Halfway House.
